the dress reveal

A little bit of sparkle for your Monday, friends.

I have FINALLY uploaded all of our professional wedding pics and thought I would share a few of my favorite dress shots here. If you're a long time reader, you know the wedding gown process was a long and winding tale, but a happy one! You can read more about picking out the dress here.

My dress was from Badgley Mischka and although I'd looked at it online, it looked entirely different in person. This is how it was styled on the runway

It appears pretty voluminous from the photos, but since the skirt was made entirely of tulle, it actually wasn't that heavy. That doesn't mean I wasn't happy to rip it off at the end of the night (HI yo), but considering we got married in sweltering July, I was more than comfortable all day.

Parker and Laura playing with the dress!

I added a belt, which, if you look closely you can see, but since the embroidery was almost an exact match, it blended pretty seamlessly. I loved the idea of a long ribbon bow in the back, which you can just make out in the above photo.

TRAIN! I had one. It got bustled for the reception, thanks to the nimble hands of my friends Liz and Christina.

And finally, veil. Mine was very simple, but the hem was double-thick tulle. I'm having it cleaned right now and if anyone needs a veil, hit me up. Those fuckers are expensive as hell and you only wear it for about .5 seconds, so I am more than happy to share mine.
